Valentine's Day sales seem to be the one thing that will NOT get thrown into the dumpster fire that was 2020. The National Retail Federation predicts an upwards of 21% in spending over last year’s previous record Valentine’s Day. How will you reach beyond your target demo and acquire new streams of revenue?
While "significant others" continues to be the main purchasing targets for sales and is probably a target you have dialed in by now, next in line are: family members, teachers gifts, coworkers and PETS! What steps can you take now to create new retail stream to position your products? Could they be marketed towards cubicle mate gifts for co-workers or can you provide an artesian heart shaped dog treat with purchase?
With 36.9% of all sales being executed on smart phones according to Forbes. So yes, I am literally saying throw them a bone for returning to your cart or work with your local schools in sponsoring a different holiday gift for school teachers and administrators while they allow you to reach out to the parents for the special gift they need to complete their Valentine's Day shopping. Maybe even pepper in some anti-Valentine's Day branding too!
2021 is all about bigger better sales so it time NOW to think outside of the box when it comes to one main revenue stream and find yourself a second sweet spot.
